February 18, 1849 Isabella Rowan arrived in Kincardine, Ontario Canada with her older brother Duncan, and her twin brother Robert.  
We aren't entirely sure when Donald immigrated, he may have come with the Rowans or he arrived some time after them but shortly after he arrived he and Isabella were wed.  Family history says they were married in Kincardine in 1849, but we have yet to find any concrete evidence of this.
We do know that Donald McLeod and the Rowans came from the same area in Scotland so we suspect they were friends there.
